Opening:
I am Adam, prince of Eternia and defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull. This is
Cringer, my fearless friend. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the day I held
aloft my magic sword and said, "By the Power of Grayskull! I have the power!" Cringer
became the mighty Battle Cat and I became He-Man, the most powerful man in the
universe! Only three others share this secret: our friends, the Sorceress,
Man-At-Arms, and Orko. Together, we defend Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of
Skeletor!
Summary:
Skeletor reveals a new weapon to Beast Man, the Diamond Ray of Disappearance! Skeletor
orders Beast Man to activate the transport beam, which teleports his minions, Mer-Man,
Evil-Lyn, Tri-Klops, and TrapJaw, to his fortress, Snake Mountain. Within the meeting
chamber of Snake Mountain, Skeletor reveals his plan to stop He-Man and take Eternia.
He shows off the vanishing power of the Diamond Ray by making a small, red lizard
creature disappear.
At the Palace of Eternia, Orko entertains King Randor, Queen Marlena, Prince Adam,
Man-At-Arms, Teela, and Cringer with a magic trick involving eggs. The eggs end up
covering Man-At-Arms, of course. Outside, TrapJaw arrives on a sky sled and attacks
towers of the palace. Teela asks the King's permission to stop Skeletor's minion.
Prince Adam and Cringer skulk off, seeming to avoid the conflict. Teela and a handful
of Eternian guards mount sky sleds to counter TrapJaw's attack. He is knocked
from the sky with a fire blast from Teela's sled.
TrapJaw contacts Skeletor, who is miles away and viewing him on his crystal ball
axe. Skeletor reveals his deceptive plot of sending TrapJaw to divert the Palace's
defenses while he and the other minions invade.
Prince Adam and Cringer transform into He-Man and Battle Cat.
TrapJaw has problems attaching his energy bow while Teela confronts him on the ground.
Teela's sword is broken in the metal jaws of TrapJaw. He-Man arrives and deflects an
energy bolt with his sword, then bends TrapJaw's next weapon, the lasotron. He-Man lifts
TrapJaw, still aboard the sky sled, and heaves him into the horizon. He-Man informs
Teela about a possibly secondary attack on the Palace by Skeletor. He-Man calls Teela's
sky sled a battle ram and they head back to the Palace.
Orko continues his magic show while he, Man-At-Arms, and the King and Queen await Teela's
return. The eagle Zoar, the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull in disguise, flies in through
a window and telepathically communicates with Man-At-Arms. Man-At-Arms gives Orko the
information he received about Skeletor's invasion. Speaking of which, Skeletor bursts
into the Palace at that time with his minions and a group of Hover Bots. Man-At-Arms
explains to Orko that the Sorceress is powerless outside of Grayskull. He attempts to
defend the King with an energy sword, but is banished by the Diamond Ray along with Zoar,
King Randor, and Queen Marlena.
Orko flies to He-Man, who is about to strike Hover Bots stationed just outside the Palace.
He-Man is told about Skeletor's attack and he sends Orko to get Teela and the guards.
He-Man says to also find Stratos and Ram-Man, then position themselves in the woods around
Castle Grayskull.
He-Man goes to Castle Grayskull and commands the drawbridge to open "by the power of
Grayskull." A magic mirror within the castle is used to contact the Sorceress, who says
she and the others are trapped in a "timeless dimension." He-Man is told the only way
to free those banished is to crush the Diamond Ray of Disappearance.
Skeletor and the minions arrive at Grayskull. TrapJaw, Mer-Man, Beast Man, and
Evil-Lyn use a grapling hook to pull the drawbridge down with help from an
energy blast from Skeletor. The drawdridge opens to reveal He-Man and Battle Cat
blocking the entrance. Beast Man and Mer-Man are thrown from the castle by He-Man. Teela,
Orko, Stratos, and Ram-Man show up. Teela confronts Evil-Lyn and blocks an energy
bolt with her shield. Stratos wraps Evil-Lyn up in her own cape. He-Man destroys a few
Hover Bots. Skeletor says he is too far away to use the Diamond Ray and sends Panthor
to attack. Panthor is tackled by Battle Cat. Ram-Man bashes some Hover Bots while
He-Man is grappling with Tri-Klops. Tri-Klops is thrown off and Orko manually spins
his visor, temporarily blinding and disorienting him. He-Man deflects the Diamond Ray's
beam with the Sword of Power. While ducking the returned beam, Skeletor drops the Diamond
Ray into a crevice in the ground. Rock golems are created by Skeletor from a nearby
outcropping of stone, but He-Man punches and destroys them.
He-Man dives into the crevice and retrieves the Diamond Ray after forcing it open. He-Man
attempts to crush the diamond in his hands, but begins to disappear. The Diamond Ray
is finally destroyed and all who were banished are returned, except for the small lizard
creature. It's unknown where that poor little guy ended up. Skeletor laments his
foiled plans before magically vanishing.
Back at te palace, king randor tells orko to make his son appear on time. Teela tells
the King that a guard reported seeing Adam returning with the King's lost zooom
chariot (not spoken of in the episode until now). Teela says Adam broke the
directional controls, however. At just that time, Adam and Cringer crash through
a wall in a badly beaten zoom chariot. Orko makes a joke about Adam destroying
the wall and chariot "on time." The King laughs and all is well in the land!
